Press Release – (Cape Town – South Africa) The Formal Appointment of Devon J. Clark as CEO of PhilTech Business Academy in October 1st 2020 is a major milestone for the educational institution as it aims to accelerate the operational deployment of a global strategy with a strong focus on Southern Africa.

The board of PhilTech Business Academy formally announced the appointment of Devon Clark as the successor to founder Michael C. Fanning as the group CEO. Mr. Fanning will still be actively involved in the business in a Research and Development (R&D) role with a key focus on publishing innovation and entrepreneurship textbooks, which will serve as the organization’s primary educational content for their online business courses.

Clark has been identified as a strong contributor to the key vision, mission and culture of the organization displaying a keen focus on end-user acquisition and engagement as well as identifying key strategic partnerships and methods to take PhilTech Business Academy to its next stage of evolution into the market.

Clark said; “PhilTech and its group are set to disrupt more than just the EdTech Sector, but delve into some of the long-standing deficiencies which exist especially in Africa. Our core focus on the Development of Africa through locally derived and applied intelligence creates an unprecedented platform to create transformation. With the focus being on the accurate education of the masses into Entrepreneurship, we have created a full-circle environment that will walk Students from Ideation phase to building a sustainable business with the support of businesses and corporations that have a keen focus on micro to small to medium enterprises. My aim as group CEO is to develop and implement strategies that are beneficial to the end-user by way of our Strategic Partners to accelerate the rate of deployment of the process to empower transformation within South Africa.  Our process is focused on introducing and sustaining entrepreneurs into the economy and formalizing existing economies by way of increased exposure to opportunities that exist not only within but outside of the communities in which they operate.”

PhilTech Business Academy has enjoyed a steady growth into the EdTech Market and with the new appointment of Devon Clark as CEO, the organization is set to cement its position in the Entrepreneurial training and Development sector.

Devon Clark was raised in a single income family in one of the early mining towns in Johannesburg, Germiston.

Clark was fortunate enough to be exposed to many different cultures and circumstances in his childhood, including that of entrepreneurship through necessity.  He had his first taste of entrepreneurship at the age of 5 and has been involved in some sort of entrepreneurship since, from idea to hustle to growth in business. This has well equipped him into understanding the practical side of business, mainly through experiential learning, which has fuelled his determination to learn and educate more people into business and living a more purpose-driven life in business and within his community.

This forms a key part of the culture within PhilTech Business Academy,  which realizes that the goal in transformation is greater than the sum of its parts.

“We look forward to the next 10 years of growth and the thousands of entrepreneurs we look to empower and bring to the economy”– He said, while being introduced to his new executive position within the educational technology company.

Entrepreneurship

I am a serial entrepreneur and I have been vegetarian for 14 years now. In a nutshell, I start businesses, grow them and retain some ownership before decelerating from all the operational duties involved.

In addition, I am a complete lover of nature. I turned vegetarian at 18 years old. And my mother introduced me to hiking in my teenage years. So, I take random walks in the bushes every now and then. It definitely helps with decision-making in business, too. But it is not all that I am. I am also an aspiring father, husband and Vegan. Did I mention I am Christian?
